The post-Christmas clean

Over the holidays we spend a great deal of time entertaining family and friends, but that seasonal fun can fade quickly when you’re faced with the aftermath: a house to clean up. Getting your home back into shape can be a terrifying task, but not to worry, because we’ve got a few tips to help you along the way:

  • Check your carpet and furniture for stains –
The longer they linger, the more difficult they will be to remove. If you find any stains, use a spray bottle to lightly apply a mixture of warm water and dishwashing liquid on to the affected area. Blot with a paper towel and continue to dab until the stain is removed. Rinse with clean water and then repeat this process again.
  • Use this time to get rid of what you don’t need –
Did you get some lovely new pressies for your kitchen or other rooms in the house? That’s brilliant! But you may not need two or three new plate sets in your cabinet, so, either discard old ones or donate them. Have children? Recruit them to help by seeing who can gather their toys first. Store toys that are of no interest at the moment and then you can rotate them, bringing out old toys every once in a while as a surprise!
  • Get that oven spick and span –
It’s the big one, how is your oven looking after that huge dinner on Christmas day? To help save time, try using Oven Pride to stop you from scrubbing for hours on end. All you have to do is place the racks in the plastic bag provided and add the 2 in 1 cleaning solution, pouring the remaining solution inside the oven. Leave this to get to work for 24 hours and rinse down with gloves and hot soapy water.
